James Redcay

    A native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, James Redcay began his piano studies at the age of nine.  He has studied piano with such acclaimed concert pianists as Annie Petit (Paris Conservatory, Curtis Institute) and Donna McHugh (Lehigh University, Illinois University).  He has given and taken part in recitals and concerts throughout his career in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York.

    Currently, Redcay is pursuing his bachelors of music in composition and theory at the prestigious New York University, where he studies composition with the critically acclaimed composer, Marc-Antonio Consoli, and piano, with the applauded concert pianist, Deidre O'Donohue.  Redcay has premiered many works, including a violin concerto in the spring of 2004 and numerous works for piano, soprano and piano, and other ensembles.  At this time, Redcay also maintains a position Composer-In-Residence at Stevens Institute Of Technology in Hoboken, New Jersey.
