Mary Beth Yakoubian

Quote by Mary Beth: "Phillip is a gifted teacher, exceptionally sensitive to the needs of the mature student."
Mary Beth Yakoubian grew up in suburban Connecticut where she began piano studies with "Mr. Morris," a music teacher who happened to live next door to her family. Her piano history in Stratford extended only from ages 5 through 8 and , after many years being away from the piano, resumed recently here in Hoboken.
Mary Beth is now happily retired, having taught Physical Education, Math, and Music in the New York City school system for thirty years. Her most cherished achievements were at the High School for the Humanities where, under the leadership of Dr. Robert Sinclair, a brilliant and creative principal, she created two popular courses: "Opera In Our Lives" and "Handel Plus."
Mary Beth feels fortunate to have met Phillip Dieckow at a performance twelve years ago and that she is now able to devote adequate time to her piano studies with him. Her other love is dance, and in the field was recently featured in an article in the Jersey Journal. The text of this article may be found on her web site: clogdancenewyork.com.
