Hello
Students and Friends of the Dieckow School of Music,
Beginning
with this newsletter, we will publish one each month on our web site to let you
know of upcoming events and activities.
This
May we will advertise in the Hoboken Reporter for new students to help the
faculty pay the rent this summer. We
will probably continue to do this several key months out of the year to
encourage new student enrollment. Encourage
any of your friends to contact me at 201.798.8758 if they are interested
in lessons. PLEASE PLAN ON TAKING LESSONS THIS SUMMER IF AT
ALL POSSIBLE TO RETAIN YOUR PLACE ON OUR SCHEDULES.
Everyone has accomplished much this year.
Missed lessons during the summer months are the major reason why students
fall far behind. It is a pity when
students skip lessons in the summer and then return in September and it takes
until Christmas to reach the level where they were in June.
I
want to thank all my students and parents for putting up with me this difficult
year. My throat cancer is gone but
the recovery is slow and in many ways more difficult than the treatment.
Please continue to be patient with me as my voice continues to croak.
Hopefully by September everything will be back to normal.
Our
next Marathon Concert is on Saturday, June 7th at the Parish Hall,
probably a double concert with one at 6:00 PM and one at 7:00 PM.
The final concert of the summer will be on Saturday, August 23rd
at 6 PM. The following is our
concert schedule for the 2003 - 2004 school year (our 14th year in
existence as a school).

Please
take note that we offer more performance opportunities for our students with
these Marathon Concerts than any other school in the tri-state area.
Performing in these concerts, although not graded, is the equivalent of a
test to show parents and friends the progress that each student makes.
Students who perform often in these concerts are, without exception, the
students who make the most progress.
Look
for our June Newsletter on the web site. Feel
free to call me with any questions or suggestions.
